Executive Summary

RoshSkor Township (Pty) Ltd was established in 2001.  It has grown into a medium sized company that takes care of Rosh Pinah’s services, including water, electricity, sewer and refuse removal.

RoshSkor’s income is derived solely from the selling of domestic commodities and service fees.  No rates and taxes are charged due to the town’s status as a mining town.  RoshSkor does not receive any subsidies of any kind from any institution.  RoshSkor has managed to be financially self-sustainable and even engages in capital projects from savings.

The RoshSkor staff has proved their dedication to refine processes and to become more focussed.  High quality customer service remains RoshSkor’s priority

RoshSkor Governance

RoshSkor Township (Pty) Ltd is owned by the two mines, holding equal shares. Governance structure and the following entities contribute to the governance of RoshSkor business

Board of Directors

Consist of two Directors from each mine. The focus of this entity is strategic of nature – executive governance.

Management Committee

Consist of one Director from each mine as well as the three RoshSkor Managers. The focus of this committee is to provide the necessary support for the RoshSkor Management team. This committee meets monthly and monitors RoshSkor’s progress.

Management Team

Consist of the three RoshSkor Managers – RoshSkor Manager, Financial Manager and Town Administration and Development Manager. The focus of this team is to manage the day to day activities of RoshSkor.

Rosh Pinah Representative Forum (RPRF)

RoshSkor initiated a process to establish a forum that represents all sectors of Rosh Pinah. This forum became operational towards the end of 2010.

Technical Review team

Consist of a technical advisor from each mine, together with the RoshSkor Manager. The focus of this team is the monitoring, maintenance, technical advice and improvement of technical issues of Rosh Pinah.
